Back in the good old days "El Padre" the student newspaper(why did they change it to the Sandpiper?) used to run a photograph of the "Heap of the Week" usually a photo of some student's car. In my day, it was very prestigious acclaim to have your "car" (for many of as I am sure it is in this day and age...our first car!) selected as "Heap of the Week."

The first photo in this category is my car and it was never selected as "Heap of the Week" so as editor I get to present my CHS "Heap of the Week" still looking so fine after all these years! I wish I still had it!

Please send us your old photos or even your current "Heaps." I know there are a few old grads out there with a few "classics" in their garages...Doug Baird '58, Bart Hancock '59, maybe Tony Bigham '58, Roddy McArthur '59 and Phil Durbrow '58. (Does that date me?) Oh, yeah, Dio Roberts '60 I'm told has some oldies and not so moldies. I have seen one of his rad Cads!

More recently, Joshua Davis-Butte '94, out of Indianapolis, checked in and mentioned that he is Transportation Supervisor for the Indy Racing League, "responsible for transporting all equipment to each track. Requires six tractor trailors and six drivers to 'put the show on the road.'" We'll see if we can get some of his team's car photos posted right here on.line.

How many of you out there remember watching the road races on the old Pebble Beach course?
I remember driving an old 1500 MG TF around that "track" (in off-season, of course) which really was a loop used as part of the residential road network in P.B. Dreams of glory!

And send us your photos (by e.mail) in JPEG file attachment and some info
and we'll post it from there-here.

See you on the Padre bi-ways and highways...old two-lane roads, from Ocean and Higway One to six-lane super highways of southern California to the scenic parkways on the eastern shore.

Click on the "Our Cars" link in the box to left under "all things alumni" and click on any of the "thumbnails" for the "blasts from the past." Put the pedal to the metal! What a gas!
